Role Purpose Statement

To support the Communications Authority of Kenya in strengthening the nation's cyber security posture by assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of cyber security frameworks and initiatives. This role is crucial in protecting Kenya's digital ecosystem and ensuring the integrity of communications infrastructure.

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) is seeking a Cyber Security professional to join their dynamic regulatory team. As the ICT industry regulator, CA oversees telecommunications, cyber security, e-commerce, broadcasting, multimedia, and postal services. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to safeguarding Kenya's digital infrastructure while gaining practical experience in a leading regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring and analyzing cyber security threats and vulnerabilities
Support the implementation of cyber security policies and frameworks
Participate in incident response and management activities
Contribute to cyber security awareness and capacity building initiatives
Assist in the development of cyber security guidelines and best practices
Support the management of the country's numbering and frequency spectrum resources
Participate in the administration of the Universal Service Fund (USF)

Know How

Understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
Knowledge of telecommunications and ICT regulatory frameworks
Familiarity with cyber security tools and technologies
Understanding of incident response and management procedures
Knowledge of digital infrastructure protection mechanisms

Problem Solving & Accountability

Ability to analyze complex cyber security challenges
Skills in identifying and mitigating potential security threats
Capacity to develop innovative solutions for cyber security issues
Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents
Skills in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analysis

Qualifications

Ongoing university student in a recognized institution
Areas of study should align with cyber security or related fields
Demonstrated interest in gaining practical experience in regulatory environment
Mandatory submission of university/college recommendation letter
Provision for Persons Living With Disability (PWD) with valid membership card
