Job Title: Data Interns - DTII

Role Purpose Statement

This internship exists to bridge cutting-edge data science with health system improvements. You'll directly contribute to building scalable solutions that enhance data visibility, workforce development, and supply chain resilience across Kenya and Tanzania. Your work will empower local health systems to achieve better health outcomes through technology-driven insights.

Join inSupply Health as a Data Intern - DTII to drive digital transformation in East Africa's health systems. You'll leverage data, AI, and tech to optimize supply chains for critical health products. This role blends hands-on technical work with impactful public health outcomes, ideal for innovators passionate about solving real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Python/R scripts to automate data analysis and reporting
Integrate with health systems like DHIS2 and eLMIS
Clean and transform complex health datasets
Maintain technical documentation and code repositories
Create data visualizations using Power BI/Tableau
Build web tools with React.js and FastAPI
Support AI pilot projects for health data innovation
Assist with demand forecasting for health supplies
Mentor stakeholders in data-driven decision making
Coordinate workshops and technical engagements

Know How

Proficient in Python or R
Experienced with SQL databases
Familiar with React.js and FastAPI
Knowledge of data visualization tools
Understanding of health information systems

Problem Solving & Accountability

Analyze complex health datasets to identify actionable insights
Design AI solutions for real-world supply chain challenges
Optimize data workflows for efficiency
Troubleshoot integration issues with health systems

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
Python/R proficiency
SQL and database experience
Basic frontend/backend development skills
Git/GitHub experience
Eagerness to learn AI/ML tools
