Job Title: Responsive Campaigns InternReports to: Responsive Campaigns Lead • Department: Programmes • Location: South Africa, Cameroon, Senegal, Kenya
Role Purpose Statement
This role exists to provide critical support for Greenpeace Africa's responsive campaigns, ensuring they are strategic, organized, and impactful. You'll collaborate with program, volunteer, engagement, fundraising, and communications teams to develop data-driven campaigns that engage audiences and build counter-power. Your work will directly contribute to the organization's mission of protecting the environment by enabling timely and effective campaign execution across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Support strategic planning and execution of responsive campaigns
- Coordinate logistical and administrative arrangements for campaign activities
- Assist in representing Greenpeace Africa at meetings and stakeholder engagements
- Prepare briefings, summaries, and updates for staff, media, and stakeholders
- Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation processes
- Collaborate with Digital & Engagement, Research, Political, Communications, and Fundraising teams
- Support compliance with Greenpeace Africa security guidelines
- Track emerging issues and support timely coordination of activities
- Contribute to identifying responsive opportunities aligned with campaign goals
- Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders
- Support budget planning and monitoring processes
- Provide administrative support with strong organizational and time management skills
Know How
- Experience in advocacy, awareness-raising, policy and campaign management
- Experience working in a multicultural team
- A strong Pan-African Mindset
- Familiarity with administrative support work within an organization
- Skilled in negotiating, building consensus, and facilitating dialogue
- Knowledge in supporting campaigning, creative advocacy content, lobbying, and canvassing projects
Problem Solving & Accountability
- Track emerging issues and support timely coordination of activities
- Identify responsive opportunities aligned with campaign goals
- Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders
- Support budget planning and monitoring processes
- Ensure compliance with Greenpeace Africa security guidelines
Qualifications
- Honours or Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Law or related field
- 6 months to 1 year experience in advocacy, awareness-raising, policy and campaign management
- Experience working in a multicultural team
- A strong Pan-African Mindset
- Familiarity with administrative support work within a role or organization
- Skilled in negotiating, building consensus, and facilitating dialogue to achieve mutual outcomes
- Demonstrated strong communication skills
- Knowledge and/or experience in supporting campaigning, creative advocacy content, execution of strategies, lobbying, and canvassing projects
